  Saturday Morning Football Coaching Academy

  • Target Sports Coachings' sucessful Saturday Club runs every week between 9.30am - 11.00am throughout the year.
  • Our Children's Football Coaching Academy is one of the most talked about in the area, with over 100 regularly taking part.
  • The course is held at Raynes Park Sports Ground and runs in continual blocks of 10 sessions.
  • Children 3-14 years old with varying abilities are welcome to join.
  • We have a maximum of 16 children and a minimum of 2 coaches per group, to enhance their learning ability.

  • Our Football development structure is based upon the Football Associations' developmentally appropriate coaching model which supports the principles & programmes of the L.T.A.D (Balyi). The F.A created their own specific version called the Long-Term Player Development (L.T.P.D) model
  • The programme concentrates on maximising player potential and encourages long-term participation in football, by devoting sufficient time on learning the fundamental and sport-specific skills, rather than a disproportionate time spent just in competition (see 'Our Aims' page for more information).
  • Sessions focus 1 hour on football techniques and individual core skills such as; agility, co-ordination balance & speed.
  • Sessions dedicate 30 minutes to crucial competitive match-practice each week.
  • Our consistent & enthusuastic team of CRB checked coaches are qualified and experienced to help progress children of all abilities, through our ‘group development stages’.
  • We encourage continual coach development workshops & training.
  • We recognise and reward all areas of a child's personal progression (technical, physical, psychological & social) as focusing more on these aspects helps to develop the all-round individual....not just a future sports star!!
  • Player of the Day (POTD) trophies are awarded weekly to the best performers from each group. Pictures of the winners will be available to view and download from our 'Sat POTD' page.
  • •Personal Certificates are given to all children at the end of the course to indicate the session topics they covered, as well as highlight the areas they may need to develop on in the future (to be eligable, children must have attended atleast 5 out of the 10 sessions. as coaches can only write developmental areas for children who they have seen regularly train).
  • 'Player of the Course' and 'Most Improved Player' medals are awarded to children from each age group at the end of each 10 week block.
  • Children have the possibility of being selected to play in a competitive environment for Raynes Park Target FC football teams in the Surrey Youth Leagues.

Winning Player of the Day Award (April '11)                                                                         Target Cafe (January '11)

  • Cafe available offering a choice of hot and cold food & drinks (bacon rolls, tea, coffee) to anyone wishing to stay and watch their child train. This creates a warm and friendly atmosphere which, we feel makes us stand out from our competitors.
  • Excellent facilities and plenty of parking spaces!
  • We are rapidly growing & developing each week; mainly due to our loyal customer base and professional overall approach.
  •  You can download a form from our 'booking form' page.
  •  View our current Saturday Club coaches on our 'coach profiles' page.

Saturday Club Comments

“Liam has improved out of sight and more importantly, is enjoying the fun”

(Brett & Catherine Downes)

You would expect the sessions to be well structured but what really is impresive is how aware of the children you are.

You always seem to notice when an incident has happened and are able to get children back in to the session again.

It really is lovely to see and be part of”.

(Rachel Cunningham-Day)
